Bank Holiday, Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge weekend

Take on the classic 3 Peaks of the Yorkshire Dales in a weekend we have exclusive use of Hill Top Bunk House on the outskirts of the beautiful market town of Malham, close to pubs and shops.

This is a weekend with a wow factor climbing these classic Yorkshire giants.

Friday: 17:00 depart London, drive to Hill Top Farm stopping en route for food arriving around 22:00

Saturday: Pen Y Gent- From Horton in Ribblesdale, we take on the first of these peaks and the smallest with the classic circuit of Pen-y-Ghent. Starting with a climb Dub Cote Scar the trail easies up to join the Pennine Way at Churn Milk Hole, we ascend the steepening ridge to meet the summit at 694m with spectacular views towards Whernside and Ingleborough, the two other mountains which complete the Three Peaks of Yorkshire. We descend over Plover hill to visit Hull Pot, the largest natural hole in England before descending Horton Scar and returning to our transport. 18km 5hr 30min hiking

Sunday: Whernside- From the Iconic Ribblesdale Viaduct, we join the Blue Clay ridge to cross under the viaduct and pick up the Dales High Way and continue to Fish Sike Springs at Boot of the World we join the main Pennine trail which leads us to Whernside Tarn and onto Kroutberry Hill to join the main summit ridge to Whernside at 736m the highest of our three peaks and superb panorama as far as the Howgills and the Lakeland fells. We descend to Low Pike where a short steep section joins the main trail to Bruntscar, we follow the valley past Browside Caves and back to the Viaduct. 17km 5hrs 30mins hiking

Monday: Our final Peak takes us from Chapel Le Dale past the old lead mines to Meregill Hole the trail starts to ascend to Humphries Bottom where a steep section leads to the Arks, from here an easy trail leads to the main summit. We descend over Simon Fell to Black Rock where an easy track continues to the road and back to Chapel where we will have a late lunch before returning home. 11km 3hrs 40mins

COST: £280 payable on RSVP. (includes transport)

INCLUDES: Three nights dormitory accommodation, three breakfasts, two packed lunches, three guided walks and transport from London.
