Leith Hill Tower, and the Greensands Way

This beautiful hike in the Surrey Hills, takes us from the town of Dorking gradually ascending through woodland to join the Greensand Way. The trail leads us to the beautiful village Friday Street, then onto the highlight of the walk Leith Hill 294m the highest hill in the southeast of England, it’s majestic Gothic Victorian tower which from the top you can see sweeping views towards London and South towards the English Channel. From the tower, a gradual descent takes us past the Dukes Warren and past Tillings springs which form a small tributary of the River Mole. We continue past the ponds at Westcott to drop into the Valley before picking up a trail along the Mole Valley, finishing in Dorking where you are welcome to join us for a drink and some food or take the train home.

MEETING TIME: 08:55 London Victoria railway station in front of the departure boards next to the information stand near platform 12 We will be taking the 09:24 train to Dorking Main, arriving 10:13. Walk finishes Approx 17:30

COST: £8 organiser fee on RSVP

Train fare is not included £9.80 group saver, pay on the day, please arrive prompt and bring the correct cash if you would like to be included in group tickets.

GRADE: Beginner/intermediate, 23km 15m. 6 hrs hiking time undulating woodland trails with some steep ascents.
