Hassocks Circular- South Downs and the Devil’s Dyke

Join us for a beautiful and lofty walk in the South Downs National Park. There’s lots of views and things to see along this hike- old windmills, a steep-sided dyke rumored to be built by the Devil himself and bronze-aged hill top forts. There are several steep climbs, but the views from the top that stretch all the way to the sea makes it all worth it!

The day before the walk, I will send out an email with my contact info and any other information you might need.

Grade: 19km 12 Miles a moderately difficult walk with at least three hill climbs on good paths.

Meeting Point: Due to Covid, we can not travel together and organise group tickets at this time (however, you are welcome to self-organise if there is a lot of you leaving from the same place!). Meet me at Hassocks station at 9:58 am. This is a circular walk- there is a car park at the train station. If you choose to take the train, there is a 9:02 that leaves from London Victoria that gets in to Hassocks at 9:58 exactly. Meet me just outside the station- I’ll be dressed for hiking and wearing a day-glo yellow shirt.

Cost: £10 organiser fee payable on RSVP. We have temporarily raised the price of walks to be able to accommodate smaller groups. As soon as it is safe to take larger groups, we will re-asses our pricing. For this hike, I will be taking a maximum of 20.
