Easter get away, Hiking in Peak district Park

On this Easter getaway we will be in based in the White Peak area of the Peak District, with deep limestone valleys, meandering bubbling rivers and brooks, lush green meadows and rolling hills this is the ideal hiking destination.

We will be staying at Hartington hall YHA with its cosy Log fires, oak panelling and even its own beer, all of this makes this 17th-century manor house perfect for weekend breaks in Derbyshire. This hostel is in a lovely, unspoilt area of the Peak District National Park, just right for walking.

INCLUDED: Four nights accommodation, four breakfasts, three-pack lunches, four guided walks and transport from London.

NOT INCLUDED: Snacks, drinks, evening meals, (there are plenty of nearby pubs and eateries and a restaurant in the YHA)

Thursday

Lift share from London to Hartington hall. Minibus share from outside B&Q, Tottenham Hale Retail Park, just opposite Tottenham Hale Station, meeting 17:00
5hrs driving

Friday

Walking out of Hartington to the South East we pick up a track which leads us to the head of Biggin Dale, where we descend into a winding limestone valley which takes us to the River Dove. Joining Wolfscote Dale we follow the meandering river past the Drabber Tor stepping stones to Lode Hoe. We hike out of the Dale to join the Pennine Bridleway which follows a disused railway and takes us via Dale Head and back to Hartington.
6hrs 19km 700m ascent

Saturday

A short drive takes us to Hulme End. Here we follow the Manifold river we wind our way past Limestone crags to past Wetton Mill to Thors Cave. From here we leave the valley to pass through the village of Wetton. A footpath leads us to the summit of Wetton Hill where we are afforded panoramic views of the Derbyshire countryside. We descend to Manor Hoe then ascend to Ecton hill for more fine views, before returning to the minibus.
4.5hrs 14km 500m ascent

Sunday

Today we head out to the North ascending to Madge Dale where the trail leads along an escarpment we continue to Cowdicote for lunch the descend towards the Manifold valley to Lower Hulme, here we climb to Harris Cross following the bridleway back to Hartington
6hrs 20km 600m ascent 5hrs driving

Monday

Parking at the village of Monyash we join the meandering Bagshaw Dale to Grange Farm the track crosses Long Rake to Arbour Low Henge a prehistoric Stone Circle. Crossing Fen Dale we return to Monyash where we have a quick bite to eat before returning to London.
3.5hrs 9km 250m ascent
