Chilham Castle the great Stour Valley and the woodlands of the North Downs

This stunning walk through quintessential English countryside Takes us through Great Stour valley, an area dotted with beautiful towns and villages that were once medieval service stations, for Pilgrims on their way to the shrine of Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral.

Joining the Stour Valley Path we walk through pretty rolling countryside along the Great Stour to the for a lunch by the river in the pretty medieval village of Wye.

Hiking an escarpment of the North Downs the track follows an avenue of trees along the Pilgrims Way to visit the hilltop village of Chilham with a charming village square surrounded by black-and-white cottages and medieval Castle. where you are welcome to join us for food and drink or return to London.

Meeting Point: 09:00 London St Pancras Station, outside the National rail ticket office near Starbucks. We will be taking the 09:34 HIGH SPEED TRAIN train to Ashford international arriving, 10:11 Journey time 37mins, return train from Chilham. Walk finishes approx 16:30

Cost £8 payable on RSVP.

Train tickets are not included, available on the day approx £22.95pp group saver, please arrive prompt and bring the correct cash if you want to be included in group tickets.

Grade: intermediate 19km 12m 240m ascent 5hrs hiking time on easy woodland paths and footpaths. Walk finishes approx 16:30
