Wild Wendover wander and the Wilstone Lakes

This pretty walk in the Chilterns area of outstanding natural beauty takes us from Tring station and meanders along the Grand Union Canal, through Dixon’s Gap and past Wilstone’s 16 Locks. We walk around the Wilstone Reservoir one of the best bird-watching spots in the South East of England, before climbing over Aston Hill, through the beautiful Wendover woods with fine views over the Chiltern Hills where a final descent leads us into the attractive village of Wendover, where you are welcome to join us for a drink and some food before heading home

MEETING TIME. 08:55 at London Euston railway station, outside the main ticket office. We will be taking the 09:34 train arriving at Tring station 10: 17 journey time 43 mins. Return from Wendover. Walk finishes at approx 16:30.

COST: £10.00 on RSVP

Train tickets are not included, available on the day £17.10pp group saver please arrive prompt and bring the correct cash if you want to be included in group tickets.

GRADE: Beginner/intermediate 21 km/ 13m walk along canals and good hilly woodland paths.

WALK STARTS: 10:25, Tring Station.

LUNCH: Pack lunch on route

ESTIMATED FINISH: 16:30, at Wendover Station.
